"Eightballers" Fallen Heroes Dollars for Scholars
August 31, 2021 "Loosefoot 616", an MH-60S helicopter operating off the coast of San Diego, CA, was lost along with five of her crew members from the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC)-8 "Eightballers" squadron. The tragedy shook us all in the naval aviation community. Even more, five families' lives were forever changed.

We honor their lives, service, and sacrifice by remembering the courage, love, faith, humor, joy and compassion with which they lived each day. They were loved and admired by all who knew them. They changed lives and made a difference.
With the permission of their families, this year WOASF dedicates the Virtual Paddle Raise to these five fallen heroes. Every dollar raised through the "Eightballers" Fallen Heroes Dollars for Scholars paddle raise will go directly to fund scholarships honoring Brad, Paul, James, Sarah, and Bailey.
